Since 1999, the founders of the Auriga Partnership have completed over 350 assignments located in 12 countries. Our business is built on long-term relationships. New Infra Fund Investment Team

Global insurance giant enters European renewable energy markets

Working with the CEO of an Alternative Investments business unit, which incorporated private equity, special situations and real asset investing, we advised on a go-to-market strategy with a high yield asset fund product, bringing institutional scale capital to the maturing renewable energy market.

Instrumental from the outset, we built an eight-strong, London based investment team at MD and Director levels, covering Asset Origination, Transaction Execution & Asset Management capabilities. The team was drawn from leading international project development platforms in the power sector.

Over the fund lifecycle, the business unit deployed over 2bn Euros of capital behind top performing wind and solar assets across France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy to deliver market leading yield returns.

Managing Director Appointment

Strengthening the franchise for a Global Energy and Commodities focused private equity firm with over $7bn AUM

Auriga advised the Co-Managing Partner of a Global Energy and Commodities focused private equity firm to provide a succession plan for the EMEA franchise during a multi-billion dollar fundraising period.

The recruitment mandate had to be delivered in a constrained market, with stringent criteria in terms of sector experience.

Rigorous research over an eight-week period identified the ideal candidate, with excellent credentials touching both oil & gas and mining transactions. To secure the appointment, Auriga facilitated the complex negotiations around structuring the offer on carried interest.

The offer closed successfully concurrent to the final close of the $3bn fund.

UHNW Family Office Investment Team

New pan-African Energy investment team created, sponsored by UHNW with sector credentials

Auriga initially advised the Founding Partners on their investment team design and hiring strategy, and subsequently helped implement the strategy.

In order to help implement the hiring strategy, Auriga mapped the relevant emerging market diaspora of talent across 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, researching and interpreting data about a substantial number of potential candidates across global private equity centres. We then consolidated our findings to create a candidate pipeline for a number of key hirings, giving the Partners a solution that enabled them to move forward.

Auriga was also directly responsible for successful hirings for the London team with additional appointments for the Africa-based portfolio company.

Chief Executive Officer EMEA

New Chinese entrant commits to rapid international team build at Board and Executive level

Auriga advised the China based Chairman and Founder on candidate selection and hiring for the role of EMEA CEO to deliver their move into the global wind turbine industry.

To help advance the strategy further, Auriga subsequently consulted with the Board to appoint a Non Executive Chairman and two additional independent directors, one based in London and the other in Hong Kong.

Auriga continues to act in an advisory role to identify potential new strategic hiring opportunities, evaluating management within potential acquisition targets.

Management Team Augmentation through ownership change

Private Equity backed US solar developer and operator: from development phase through to platform sale and new ownership

Through our relationship with the financial sponsor, Auriga was brought in to advise on critical senior hirings in project development and construction management. This was during the build out phase of projects across a number of states.

Subsequent mandate delivered for CFO during EBITDA growth. The investment platform was then sold to a Japanese industrials group, which resulted in a successful return for the investor groups.

The Management team was retained under the new ownership and expanded their business internationally; Auriga was instrumental in this, advising on market entry and GM hiring in Australia.

Cleantech Venture Leadership

Engaged by leading European and US technology investor groups during Series B round.

Auriga worked with two Partners on the Board to identify a CEO to launch a consumer energy efficiency technology platform in the UK and Europe.

We were able to identify experienced Business-to-Consumer candidates from the telecommunications and software sectors, including the lead candidate who had just exited a successful consumer business in the UK and was prepared to co-invest.

Auriga subsequently worked with the new CEO to build commercial and product development teams.

Advisory Board

Strengthening Board expertise around Offshore Energy markets

Auriga advised on the build out of a new Advisory Board to strengthen the existing Board and Executive team’s expertise around Offshore Energy markets. This was executed during the critical phase of a multi-billion pound investment programme.

Auriga was able to attract candidates of exceptionally high calibre including a well-regarded global infrastructure banker, a supply chain private equity partner, a FTSE aerospace Chief Executive and a UK utility Chairman.

Members of the Advisory Board subsequently migrated to main Board positions.

Chair of Audit & Risk Committee

Succession planning for FTSE-100 Industrial Support Services group 

Auriga advised the Non Executive Chairman and Nominations Committee on Board succession planning while the organisation was undergoing a major merger effort.

We refined the brief and presented a list of FTSE-100 Chief Financial Officers who had the relevant capabilities and potential capacity. The next stage involved working closely with the client to determine the shortlist, move forward to interviews and then through to offer.

From all accounts, the appointed candidate is making a highly valued contribution to the business, which continues to outperform its sector peers.

General Partner & Chairman

US Private Equity giant moves into China via local currency fund

Auriga had previously successfully hired the General Partner in Beijing and was now tasked with building the local Board with guanxi to raise capital, support deal flow and work with local portfolio companies.

Aurgia considered the strategic investor needs of local partners and, together with fundraising placement agents, worked to secure high profile Board members. This enhanced the marketability of the fund.
